Long time no post, huh? Well, I’ve had a heck of a busy time. Been writing so much for classes that my Writing Manna was completely exhausted. I had to drink, like, 3 Green Potions just to write this. On a side note I made 4 new headers. I now have a total of lucky 13.

For example, last night I was working on a paper, right? I started doing that thing where I was staring at the page, occasionally closing my eyes and then shaking awake. I would begin to read a sentence, and lose my train of thought by the time I reached the end of it. For example, “Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s…something. Okay, what do I need to say next? Wait…I gotta read that again. Oh, say, can you see…” And so on, ad infinitum.

In a bold decision that I equal parts loved and hated, I decided to go to sleep and wake up early to work on it. My sleep schedule is so insanely inconsistent this semester, I thought, what the heck? I hated it because I knew I would not want to get up at 6 a.m. (because it was due at an 8 a.m. class) but, on the other hand, I was so happy to go to sleep. Do you ever get so you just can’t wait to get to sleep, so much so that you get just really excited? I was ecstatic to lie down.

The night before this, I had gotten 3 hours of sleep, so, when I went to sleep tonight, it was almost entirely REM dream sleep. Did you know that? In studies they would deprive people of dream sleep for a long time, by waking them up every time they went into REM mode. Then, when they stopped, the people had a huge influx of REM sleep, like the body needed it and was catching up with what it had lost. I think that happened to me last night, to a degree. Too bad I couldn’t muster the strength to write down any of the dreams before I forgot them.

Which is another reason why, and this may be the whole point of this post, I wish I had a Guardian Angel Computer with me at all times. The GAC would be an archive of my entire life. I would wake up and say, “Computer…record dream.” And, in a little nanomachine in my ear it would say, “Dream #963, 23 February 2005: Recorded.” Then, naturally, I could access it any time I wanted.

“Computer, I used to know the name of that person; who is it?”…whirr…”Ethan Krueger, aged 21. Majoring in Telecom, likes his pop tarts frosted and wishes he could be an astronaut; unusual hair and improper grammar usage.”

“Computer, what’s the longest I’ve ever held my breath?”…whirr…”On June 12, 1998 you held your breath for 109 seconds.”

“Computer, how many times have I said the word ‘nanomachine’ in my life, including the time I just now said it?”…whirr…”You have said the word ‘nanomachine’ 387 times. Analysis: Not nearly enough.”
